[My website has been blocking my updates– turns out to be a problem with the WordPress app, I think! I’ve stopped using it so hopefully I can post again now.]

The puppies turned 3 weeks old today. They can see and hear, though they still are wobble walking at this stage. They are getting more mobile every day!

Here are the puppies’ head shots at 3 weeks old.

The pups are beginning their potty training as well, with a litter box in the daytime play pen.

They have met their Grandpa Ronan and Great-Uncle Thistle. The red fleece mat is called a snuffle mat (for those that aren’t aware). You can put crumbly treats and/or kibble in it that the dogs will “snuffle” for. It’s a wonderful way to lower arousal or stress levels, and I used it to ensure the big boys would remain calm while being introduced to the puppies.

The puppies also had their first enrichment field trip outdoors, a ride in a wagon going over various surfaces (concrete, wood bark, pea gravel, gravel, and grass). Mama Pomo was a big help making it a good experience for the babies, first getting in the wagon on her own to sit with the pups. Once she decided it was okay, she got out, and we proceeded on our way. It’s a long video but fun to watch the puppies’ reactions.

That’s it for today! I’ve got a few days to catch up on, so later there may be some gaps filled in between the last post and this one.

  1. Love our Momma Mo and her babies! What wonderful resilient dogs they will become because of such experiences!
