Day three
Infant puppies can’t regulate their own body temperature until about 2 weeks of age, so it’s necessary to keep the whelping box fairly warm so they don’t get chilled. Sport finds that far too hot, though! Here she is wearing a cooling chamois, which helped a little.
Here’s a sweet picture of a boy (was wearing red, now orange) nose to nose with mom…
The puppies had their first Bio-Sensor exercise today. In addition to that, we are giving them a new experience– something novel to smell every day since at this age they can’t see or hear. Today they smelled a green apple, and one of the puppies liked the smell so much she even licked it.
