Day 12 – pictures!
The puppies are moved into one of Sport’s Perla beds whenever the whelping box is being cleaned. Until now it has been a piece of cake, but now the puppies are starting to get out pretty easily. You can kind of tell from the next photo that the pups are getting up on their feet a bit, rather than dragging themselves around.
We have eyes! None of the pups eyes are opened fully yet, but here’s a peek at one of them.
Another puppy with their eyes partially open. I also noticed Blue boy going around licking his siblings faces and mouthing their legs.

The puppies have been getting their nails clipped regularly (they were born with fairly substantial nails). Right now I’m just using human fingernail clippers to take off the tips– works pretty well and the pups are getting used to it.
Thank you so very much for sharing these photos. It really makes my day to see new shots of these sweet “little” gumdrops. I had two more old friends offer to lay tracks for Jamie. Wish I could get down there before my surgery!
Wow, who’s got the wider middle, the chicken or the egg — I mean, puppy! That is a hilarious picture. Also like the drunk with lunch photo.
Awwww – just can’t get enough of your wonderful photos of these huge, adorable puppies! Love “overfull belly” pup – they are just growing up so fast! Thanks for sharing!
