Day 5- toys in the box

Well, moms know best, they always say.   In my post yesterday I talked about putting toys in the whelping box for Sport’s sake.  I hadn’t put any toys in the whelping box yet thinking the puppies were too young for them.   It turned out not to be the case– we saw lots of toy interaction and navigating around the toys.   I think almost every puppy has been seen lying on the gingerbread man, and the chicken has been adopted as a littermate.

The next one– here’s a boy who loves his ducks.

Besides that, the pups just continue doing what they do best.  They eat a lot, sleep and grow, and move around the box fairly rapidly.  The fur on their ears is coming in.

Aren’t the interactions with each other and with toys fun? And always a relief to see those pink ears turning ‘golden’. You are being a terrific grandma, and Sporty a fabulous mom. Such cute little fuzz butts.
