Trip to Washington

We took a road trip to Washington to attend (and photograph) Steve and Zaneta’s wedding!  (Steve is Don’s youngest brother).  Sporty, Ronan, and Thistle also got to go, since the boys hadn’t yet met the family up north.

On the way up we stayed in Ashland.   There were no fun detours along the way, although Don and I did get to enjoy a terrific meal and drinks at the Standing Stone brew pub once we arrived in Ashland.   On the second day of the drive the dogs did get to do some bumper retrieving in the reservoir overflow meadow at Cottage Grove Reservoir.

Steve and Zaneta’s wedding was held at the Point Defiance Pagoda in Tacoma, Washington.   The grounds were gorgeous, as you can see in the wedding photo below.  They are a gorgeous couple, too, and the wedding was pretty much perfect!

The doggies got to meet a number of guests, though during the wedding they had to spend most of the time in the car.   It was a cool day, fortunately, and we also had our trusty Ventlock to give them extra ventilation and visibility to some of the festivities.  In the evening they did get to enjoy a walk on the grounds.

We always enjoy a walk on the trail around the Chambers Creek golf course whenever we visit, and we went the day after the wedding.   They recently put in a beautiful bridge at Chambers Creek leading to the beach.   Here are some pics of us on the bridge– it looks like we’re on a cruise ship!

The trip has been short but fun, and the weather has been perfect.   The dogs had a great time, and everyone here seems to enjoy them!  🙂   Ronan says he particularly likes Zaneta because she doesn’t mind his unbridled enthusiasm!
